B-CAD ROME 2026

B-CAD 2026 – Building, Construction & Architecture Design. From 4 to 6 September 2026, Rome will host B-CAD 2026, together with Edilsocial Expo, at the prestigious and centrally located La Nuvola Convention Center. As the Official Ambassador of B-CAD 2026, architect Alessia Maggio is curating, organizing, and moderating an entire thematic and conceptual programme on behalf of AMAART Architectural Design Studio, entitled: “The Pleasure of Architecture – Sensitive Space”. The flagship event of the program. It explores architectural design as a sensory and psychophysical experience centered on human well-being. The programme explores architecture as a multisensory experience, focusing on the relationship between space, perception, emotion, and human well-being. In contemporary design practice, aesthetic beauty and sensory pleasure are no longer understood as superficial qualities, but as the result of an integrated architectural approach conceived across the entire life cycle of a space. Aesthetic expression emerges from a symbiotic dialogue between architectural form and the regeneration of the surrounding ecosystem.

The first panel is scheduled for Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Stage 0 and is entitled the Protection of Heritage: A specialized seminar focused on the preservation, restoration, and strategic valutation of historical architectural heritage. “La Tutela del Patrimonio. Le Stazioni Ferroviarie Storiche Italiane fra Memoria, Cura e Nuova Vita” presented by CODING General Engineering, Ing. Luca Nardoni. A presentation exploring redevelopment, accessibility and functional upgrading, with CODING’s projects serving as the guiding thread. Railway stations are places of emotion before they are places of engineering. From symbols of travel to protected infrastructure: how can we give these places a new life without erasing their identity, material character and symbolic value?

The second panel a keynote speech titled “Aesthetics of the Invisible. Body, drive, and atmospheric space in Redipuglia, a work in progress.” Presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at SAPIENZA UNIVERSITY, Prof. Orazio Carpenzano. This second talk is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Stage 0. The lecture explores space as a “field of forces” capable of acting upon the individual’s sensory system. Through the concept of “architected pleasure,” the presentation investigates the subtle threshold between the solidity of matter and the immateriality of atmosphere, understood as the emotional bond between human beings and the built environment.

The third panel, “Women in Architecture / Future and Communication,” organized by the OAR (Ordine degli Architetti di Roma), will take place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 2:10 PM to 6:30 PM on Stage 2. The panel will feature Marco Maria Sambo, Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi and Alessia Maggio, alongside Supermostra, presented within AMAART’s dynamic exhibition space. This travelling exhibition celebrates innovation, research, and excellence across contemporary Italian architectural practices, offering a platform for dialogue, exchange, and new perspectives on the future of architecture. Specifically for “Dialogue with 10 Women-Led Architecture Practices” we want to discuss what does it mean to be a woman leading an architecture practice today and what are the themes and visions that could engage us in order to shape an architectural policy for the future?
