B-CAD ROMA 2025 – Building and Construction Architecture Design. From 19 September to 21 September 2025. Together with Edilsocialnetwork appointment in Rome for 2025 at the prestigious and very central “La Nuvola” Congress Center. With over 26,000 m2 of space, it offers an eco-friendly and technologically advanced environment, thus ideal for hosting an event of this scale and prestige. Alessia Maggio is Official Ambassador B-CAD 2025 and the protagonist of the Hub “Green infrastructure“.

Green Infrastructure as living organism inspired by sustainability criteria that are not only environmental, but also economic and social. Designing a city, creating parks, gardens, and green areas in cities to improve air quality, reduce the urban heat island effect, and promote biodiversity, means taking into account architecture, the territory, mobility, technological innovation, and people’s quality of life, integrating them into a system capable of adapting to climate, economic, and cultural changes. The city thus becomes a living and dynamic organism. The extent to which green infrastructure provides benefits like supporting people’s mental and physical health, reduce water run-off during flash flooding, cool urban areas during heat waves or carbon storage, depends on how it is designed and maintained, and the maturity and health of the elements that form it.

GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE

​​Urban regeneration, when properly implemented, can stimulate an improvement in citizens’ quality of life and the urbanization process must include the landscape in its overall design. Architecture can intervene with a delicate design of recomposition of elements through small, small-scale and minimally invasive interventions, as it can develop a more complex plan of regeneration on a large scale and over a long period of time. The interventions of reuse and restyling of public and private buildings and spaces, the enhancement and regeneration of landscape areas, the connection of city areas through delicate redevelopment interventions, represent the strategic projects at the base of a more sustainable, inclusive and innovative city.

ENHANCING BIODIVERSITY

URBAN MINING

To define a meaningful vision, it is essential to place Landscape at the heart of urban planning, along with a careful assessment of the impact that urban regeneration projects will have on the surrounding area. Urban mining plays a crucial role in the shift toward a circular economy by transforming cities into reservoirs of valuable resources, rather than just centers of consumption and waste. In a circular economy, the goal is to keep materials in use for as long as possible, extracting maximum value before recovering and regenerating products and materials at the end of their service life.

Urban mining directly supports this by reintegrating recovered materials into new production cycles and encouraging design for disassembly and material traceability in products. Investments and project costs should be evaluated in relation to the benefits they bring to the territory and society, promoting architecture as social infrastructure and strengthen the positive outcomes that a well-designed project can generate for its context.

Alessia Maggio will offer a unique experience in Rome B-CAD 2025: stands transformed into creative spaces, interactive workshops and laboratories led by the best professionals in the sector. The Convention Emirates 2025 in April is an exclusive satellite event dedicated to innovation in Design and Product Design Made in Italy, in the context of the United Arab Emirates. One of the strategic collaboration events between Italy and the United Arab Emirates, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Italian Trade Agency and the Emirati Chambers of Commerce.
