Internal exchange nodes at Airport Fiumicino
The new AMAART Design intervention sees its realization in the year 2014, today it represents a reference for the traveler who comes from outside (railway station terminal) or airport car parks, both long and short term; the space has been integrated with luminous advertising panels and today it maintains those wishes present in the project phase; such as the Flexibility and the ability to adapt the space to the various successive modifications linked to the needs of the places of transit. Expanding the capacity of the space to manage itself and make itself adaptable over time.
Restyling
The exchange nodes are seen in the project as pauses to then resume the path towards the continuous journey, towards the goal; therefore they mark and filter the path itself in an attempt to dilate the architectural space. Countertops are made as sculptures or interior arrangements. They are reinterpreted as fun spaces at the same time. Changeable. The architectural sky becomes sensitive and coherent material, cohesive with a dynamic space in the making.
Light
The architectural redevelopment project of the internal exchange nodes connecting the parking areas/railway stations to the Fiumicino/Rome airport terminals lays the foundations for the use and transformation of light. The same is dematerialized through the different densities and material thicknesses to mark the place of exchange. Place where the pedestrian crossing will be momentarily stopped by the light and color signal. From the material and formal change given by the composition of the aerial sculptures. An invitation to contemplation, not only to observe the luminous displays where information useful to the traveler is reported, but to artistic reflection in a usually hybrid place.
