Design of Ride Stations

The stations have been designed in cohesion with the topography of the hill, with the waiting room leading to a long viewing corridor on one side and the ride on the other. The viewing corridor opens up to the Gulf of Oman and Loulouyah beach.

Wood, Water and Stone

The major material used is wood, which gives a local touch to the design, and the color and texture complement the materiality of the surrounding mountains. The use of lights highlight the stations at night, making them stand out as an identity for the city of Khorfakkan. Wood has been included in the structural framework as well as in the design of the seating spaces. The choice of wood is justified as the color and the texture merge well with the desert surroundings. The other materials in the palette are extensive use of greenery to make the hill stand-out as a natural landmark, followed by the use of natural stone as a backdrop, giving a rugged feeling. Water serves as a distant component since it is used to target the visionary sense of the visitors, through the viewpoints and reflections produced by stainless steel.
